Treating the largest number of patients in Asia using RapidArc technology

Yashoda Cancer Institute has been transforming cancer treatment by its focus on ways to provide quality care and improve outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Institute was one of the first centres to bring IMRT technology to this part of the country, way back in 2004. It was the first centre in Asia to initiate RapidArc technology for precise, better, safer and faster delivery of radiotherapy treatments. Since then, the Institute has treated over 9000 patients on RapidArc technology, a number not yet counted in any part of the world.

Known as one of the centres of excellence in India, the Institute is a comprehensive centre for prevention, treatment, education and research in cancer. The specialists of the Institute have been trained at the best centres across the world and hence, provide leading-edge cancer care, delivering the most modern treatment with utmost ease.

Yashoda Cancer Institute has been at the technological forefront of radiation oncology. Working closely with its partner Varian Medical Systems Inc., it is the nation's first to adopt the latest radiation technology to deliver Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) with unmatched speed and accuracy.

Being a high-volume centre, Yashoda Cancer Institute routinely performs procedures that may be done occasionally elsewhere. As a leader in translational research and clinical trials, Yashoda Cancer Institute offers patients access to the latest treatment options before they are widely available at other locations. The Institute has made significant contributions in the advancement of the treatment and dissemination of the technology.

As a part of imparting technology transfer, it has trained oncologists and physicists from Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Russia, Sri Lanka and Turkey in the implementation of high precision RapidArc IMRT & IGRT Radiotherapy. The Institute has also made presentations and spoke prolifically on this advanced technology at various international, respected forums across the world.
